ERO Visit Mode is a feature designed for the day of an ERO review. When active, it locks your Compliance Register into a read-only snapshot — so nothing can be changed while the reviewer is looking at it — and stamps the visit date onto any Evidence Pack generated during the visit.

What Visit Mode does

When Visit Mode is activated:
  • A persistent amber banner appears across the entire platform for all users: “ERO Visit Mode active — register is in read-only snapshot view”
  • All status dropdowns and edit controls in the Compliance Register are disabled — no one can change compliance statuses or notes while Visit Mode is on
  • The ERO visit date is recorded and included on the cover page of any Evidence Pack generated during the visit
Visit Mode doesn’t affect any other part of the platform — drills, incidents, hazards, and HR records can all still be viewed and updated as normal.

Activating Visit Mode

From the ERO Audit Prep dashboard, click Activate ERO Visit Mode. You’ll be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, the amber banner appears immediately across the platform for all users.
Only admins can activate and deactivate Visit Mode. Compliance users can see the banner and the read-only register but cannot toggle the mode.

Deactivating Visit Mode

Once the ERO review is complete, deactivate Visit Mode from either:
  • The ERO Audit Prep dashboard — click Deactivate Visit Mode
  • The amber banner — a deactivate button appears in the banner itself
Once deactivated, the banner disappears and the Compliance Register returns to its normal editable state. The visit start time remains on record.
  1. Before the reviewer arrives — work through the Self-Review Tool, resolve outstanding actions, and generate a first Evidence Pack to check it’s complete
  2. When the reviewer arrives — activate Visit Mode, then generate a fresh Evidence Pack with the visit date on the cover
  3. Hand the pack to the reviewer
  4. After the review — deactivate Visit Mode and update your Compliance Register with any actions or findings from the review
