Some staff members may not be subject to the standard police vetting or pay parity requirements. The Staff Compliance section includes exemption toggles for both, allowing you to exclude specific staff from compliance alerts and reporting without deleting their records.

Police vetting exemption

By default, all staff members are marked as requiring police vetting. If a staff member doesn’t work directly with children and isn’t subject to the vetting requirement, you can exempt them. From the staff profile Compliance tab, find the Police Vetting section. At the top you’ll see a Police Vetting Required: Yes indicator. Click Change to toggle the exemption. You’ll be asked to confirm: exempting a staff member removes them from police vetting expiry alerts and compliance rollups. Their existing vetting records are preserved — they’re just hidden while the exemption is active. To reinstate the vetting requirement, click Require Police Vetting on their profile. The vetting section and any existing records will reappear. Effect of exempting:
  • Staff member no longer appears in police vetting overdue or due-soon dashboard alerts
  • Staff member is excluded from Multi-Site compliance rollup vetting counts
  • Existing vetting records are retained but not displayed

Pay parity educator exemption

Pay parity compliance applies to certificated teachers only. If a staff member is not a pay parity educator — for example, an administrator, cook, or cleaner — they should be excluded from pay parity tracking. From the staff profile Pay Parity tab, find the Pay Parity Educator indicator at the top. Click Change to toggle them out of pay parity. You’ll be asked to confirm: excluding a staff member removes them from the pay parity register and RS7 attestation headcount. Any historical pay review records are preserved. To re-include them, click Set as Pay Parity Educator on their profile. Effect of excluding:
  • Staff member no longer appears in the Pay Parity register
  • Staff member is excluded from RS7 attestation counts
  • Historical pay review records are retained and still visible in their Review History
Both exemption toggles require HR access. They are manual decisions — the system never automatically exempts a staff member.
