The Employment Status section on the Details tab tracks how a staff member’s employment type has changed over time. Like address history, each status change is recorded as a new entry — previous statuses are kept on record and never overwritten.

Recording an employment status

From the staff profile Details tab, scroll to the Employment Status section. The current status is shown as a badge at the top. To record a new status, select from:
  • Fixed Term Employee
  • Permanent Employee
  • Reliever
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Unpaid Parental Leave
  • Former Employee
Set the Effective From date — this can be a past date if you’re recording a status change retrospectively. Add an optional note for any relevant context. Click Save Employment Status. The new status becomes current and the previous status moves into the history table.

Employment status history

All past statuses are listed in the history table with the effective date, any notes, who recorded the change, and when. History is permanent — entries cannot be edited or deleted. Recording employment status accurately is useful for compliance reporting and for understanding your staffing picture over time, particularly for pay parity purposes.
